On behalf the staff at Monsignor Uyen Catholic School, I would like to welcome you to a new school year. 

Monsignor Uyen is a French Immersion school that provides students with a positive, collaborative and faith-filled learning environment.  We believe strongly in supporting our students to become lifelong learners, who are confident in speaking both of Canada’s official languages.  Our curriculum also focuses connecting the French language to our Canadian culture and to French language communities around the world.  This gives our students a global perspective, which is so important in our world today.   

Our Catholic values are integrated throughout the curriculum and rooted in daily prayer.  We have a close relationship with our Chatham Catholic Family of Parishes. Our parish partners visit the school regularly for rosary, Mass and sacramental preparations. We are blessed to have such a strong relationship, which allows our children to practise and understand their Catholic faith. 

We have also adopted the #ChooseKind/#choisigentil motto.  Throughout the year, our students have many opportunities to participate in events that focus on kindness.  We are particularly proud of our student led Wellness Team that hosts these events – especially our year end Family BBQ, which raises funds for a local or global cause.  We could not do any of this without the outstanding support of our families and our School Advisory Council.  

We encourage all of our parents and guardians to become involved in the life of the school.  A positive relationship between home and school is a key factor in promoting student learning and ensuring ongoing academic success.
