Daniela Mezzatesta, Principal
Bienvenue!
Gregory A. Hogan is home to a diverse community of learners where faith and academic excellence in a French Immersion milieu is at the heart of all we do. I have served GAH community in many different capacities; as district numeracy and literacy teacher, curriculum consultant, classroom teacher, vice-principal and now it is my honour and privilege to serve students, staff and the larger GAH community as principal. I have always held a deep commitment and passion for French as a second language and know, from personal experience, that it opens many doors for our students both in their personal endeavours and in their academic and work placement pursuits.
"Ask not how smart a child is but rather HOW IS a child smart."
Our Catholic learning community is rooted in the belief that every child possesses unique talents and gifts. As servant leaders, our role is to assist all our students in realizing their full potential by nurturing their gifts and providing enriching, challenging and engaging programs that promote critical thinking, innovation and creativity. We believe that, in order to achieve this, a strong partnership needs to be in place between school, home and parish. At Gregory A. Hogan we are extremely fortunate to share in this partnership and see the evidence of how it enriches our students’ social, spiritual and academic development.
Our Catholic faith and traditions are an integral part of what we stand for and who we are. Our students see visible evidence of this through our celebrations of liturgies, masses and in our daily interactions with one another, where all partners in our educational community are treated with dignity and respect.
Our parent council committee members are active and dedicated partners, who work hard to support us in our initiatives. Through fundraising and support with school events, our parent council has made significant contributions towards the purchase of technology and other resources that have greatly assisted our students in acquiring 21st century skills, which allows them to be competitive in a global society.
It is indeed a privilege to serve such a wonderful and caring school community. It is my goal to continue to work in collaboration with all members of the Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School community, in the pursuit of academic excellence and well-being for all our students.
